RA Fatimah Sriwijaya, an Islamic-based PAUD institution in Palembang. The school is facing significant challenges, including declining student numbers. Contributing factors include the financial burden on low-income families, economic pressures from the COVID-19 pandemic, and increased competition from other ECD institutions. This research aims to formulate an effective growth strategy to improve RA Fatimah's competitiveness and sustainability. Using internal (value chain, resource evaluation) and external (PESTEL, Porter's Five Forces, and competitor analysis) frameworks, the study identified strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The findings were synthesised through SWOT, IFE, EFE, and TOWS analysis to prioritise actionable strategies. Qualitative descriptive methodology was utilised, using interviews, surveys, and institutional records as data sources. The results showed that RA Fatimah's strengths lie in its positive reputation, competent teachers, and strong community trust through word of mouth (WOM). The weaknesses are the manual administration process, limited facilities, and conventional marketing methods. Opportunities arise from the increasing public awareness of Islamic education and technological advances, while threats include competition and the perception of high costs. The proposed strategies include maintaining a cost leadership approach for RA Fatimah to cater to lower-middle-income families and establishing RA Fatimah Plus to target the upper-middle-income segment. This research contributes to the education management literature and provides practical solutions for RA Fatimah and similar institutions to improve operations, overcome challenges, and adapt to evolving market demands. Future research could evaluate the long-term impact of these strategies and conduct comparative studies with other educational institutions. text |

Early childhood education (ECE) plays an important role in shaping a competitive
and resilient generation. RA Fatimah Sriwijaya, an Islamic-based PAUD institution
in Palembang. The school is facing significant challenges, including declining
student numbers. Contributing factors include the financial burden on low-income
families, economic pressures from the COVID-19 pandemic, and increased
competition from other ECD institutions.
This research aims to formulate an effective growth strategy to improve RA
Fatimah's competitiveness and sustainability. Using internal (value chain, resource
evaluation) and external (PESTEL, Porter's Five Forces, and competitor analysis)
frameworks, the study identified strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
The findings were synthesised through SWOT, IFE, EFE, and TOWS analysis to
prioritise actionable strategies.
Qualitative descriptive methodology was utilised, using interviews, surveys, and
institutional records as data sources. The results showed that RA Fatimah's
strengths lie in its positive reputation, competent teachers, and strong community
trust through word of mouth (WOM). The weaknesses are the manual
administration process, limited facilities, and conventional marketing methods.
Opportunities arise from the increasing public awareness of Islamic education and
technological advances, while threats include competition and the perception of
high costs.
The proposed strategies include maintaining a cost leadership approach for RA
Fatimah to cater to lower-middle-income families and establishing RA Fatimah
Plus to target the upper-middle-income segment.
This research contributes to the education management literature and provides
practical solutions for RA Fatimah and similar institutions to improve operations,
overcome challenges, and adapt to evolving market demands. Future research could
evaluate the long-term impact of these strategies and conduct comparative studies
with other educational institutions. |
