Jambi Province has provided public transportation in the form of a bus known as the trans siginjai bus, serving the Sijenjang Terminal - Bapelkes Pijoan route which is a student route to and from campus. However, the trans siginjai bus system faces the challenge of low levels of adoption and usage compared to the potential number of existing academic communities. This study aims to find out whether the academic community in Jambi City would consider using the siginjai trans bus in the future. The research sampling used purposive sampling method and obtained 388 respondents from the academic community in the choice user category who live in Jambi City. The results of the PLS-SEM analysis show that perceptions of private vehicles have a negative but insignificant effect both directly and indirectly through the service perception variable on intention. Infrastructure does not directly affect intention, but its effect is mediated by the service perception variable on intention formation. The study findings confirm the instrumental function of bus services observed through the variables of perceived accessibility, social influence, and service perceptions, which have a significant effect on the intention to use the trans siginjai bus. These results can be an input to policy makers as a strategy to increase the adoption rate of the siginjai trans bus in the future. text |
