| Summary: | The influence of fabrication parameters, especially the dissolution profile of three acetazolamide tablets of 250 mg (A, B, C) obtained from the market, on its bioavailability in rabbits, was investigated. Of the three tablets studied, only tablet A showed a significant correlation between the percentage of dissolved acetazolamide and its blood level. Maximal miosis of tablet A lasted four hours while that of tablets B and C approximately two hours. Of the eleven pharmacokinetic and bioavailability parameters investigated, only the distribution constant of tablet B was significantly greater than that of the other two tablets. |
