Besides that, Indonesia has also another process like in ITB. Biodiesel production process in ITB consist of two stages which called esterification (convert free fatty acids) and transesterification (convert trigliserides). Transesterification step also consist of two steps and every step need 2 hours for reaction time and use 1,5 times molar stoichiometry in total of methanol with KOH as catalyst. This research only works on transesterification with temperature varies (50, 60, and 70 degrees C), reaction time every stages (30, 60, and 90 minutes), and total methanol in stage I (1.3, 1.2, 1.1 times total methanol stoichiometry). Biodiesel will be made by these two crude oils and the conversion will be measured by the value of total gliserol and free gliserol in the end of the reaction. text
