Description
Summary:The study aims to find out the relationship between board gender diversity and corporate innovation and to find out whether family firms weaken the main relationship. This research applies a quantitative approach, using a sample of Indonesian-listed companies during the period 2010 – 2019 and ordinary least square regression analysis. Findings suggest that board gender diversity is positively related to corporate innovation and family ownership tends to weaken this relationship. The sample we use is limited to only 868 observations. This study provides insights about the importance of board gender diversity and its relationship with innovation and how firm boards must be composed in order to increase innovation. This study considers family ownership and offers insight regarding the interaction between board gender diversity and family ownership and that it relates negatively with corporate innovation.
