Before starting to paraphrase, understand the steps and techniques or methods are crucial to produce a good paraphrasing. There are some steps that usually applied and also several techniques in resulting an effective paraphrasing. According to Bailey’s theory for paraphrasing, the writer found three paraphrasing techniques, changing the word class, changing the vocabulary, and changing the word order. Besides, during paraphrasing there are also challenges that will be faced. Those challenges are commonly experienced by people who start to paraphrase, especially if they do not fully understand the essential of paraphrasing.
