Summary:Background : Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder in children with three symptoms, inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Occur in at least two different places, can persist into adulthood, and have an impact on surrounding environment. Parenting style is a risk factor for ADHD, this condition can cause parenting stress. It’s important to know this relationship to reduce the severity and risk of ADHD, provide information for parents to implement parenting style that appropriate for the children, and reduce the parenting stress. Objective : Analyse the relationship between parenting stress and parenting style for children with ADHD in Surabaya. Method : Cross-sectional observational analytic study with a questionnaire. Student population aged 9-12 years. Sample of 55 students in grade 4 to 6 elementary school with purposive sampling technique. Dependent variable is a child with ADHD. Independent variables are parenting stress and parenting style. Questionnaire was filled in by parent including the demographic questionnaire, Abbreviated Conners Rating Scale, Parenting Stress Index-Short Form, and Kuesioner Pola Asuh Anak dan Remaja. The data were processed and analyzed by an analysis program with One Sample-Chi Square. Result : Majority experienced moderate parenting stress (58,2%) and dominant parenting style was authoritative (94,5%). There was a significant relationship between parenting stress (p=0,000) and parenting style (p=0,000) for children with ADHD. Conclusion : There was a significant relationship between parenting stress and parenting style for children with ADHD.
