Summary:Akas Group is one of the leading bus operating company in Indonesia. The laws that regulate transportation company business permit and corporate governance are Laws of the Republic of Indonesia number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Transportation also Government Regulation number 74 of 2014 concerning Transportation. Government Regulation number 74 of 2014 concerning Transportation ruled an obligation for transportation company to operate as a legal entity. These include: state owned enterprises, regional owned enterprises, corporation or cooperation. Therefore, Akas Group changed their status from business entity (Limited Partnership) to legal entity (Private Company), according to the rules within Government Regulation number 74 of 2014 concerning Transportation. The type of legal research in this paper uses doctrinal research. The problem approach used in this paper are statute approaches, conceptual approaches, and case study. This change of status affected the business operation of Akas Group, for instance: an obligation to report the business operation, business permit ownership, and route permit ownership. Furthermore, as a consequence to the laws, in case that Akas Group did not change their status to legal entity, there would be sanctions. For example: warning letter, administrative penalty and abolishment of the route permit according to the article 121 of Government Regulation number 74 of 2014 concerning Transportation.
