The Potency of Hylocereus polyrhizus Peel Extract as Protector on Lead Acetate-Induced Testicular Toxicity in Mice

This study aimed to investigate the treatment of Hylocereus polyrhizus peel extract 250 mg, 500 mg, and 1000 mg/kg BW orally once in a day for 40 days to improve the thickness of seminiferous tubular epithelium, Leydig cells, and spermatogenic cells in mice which were exposed to lead acetate 30 mg/k...

Description
Summary:This study aimed to investigate the treatment of Hylocereus polyrhizus peel extract 250 mg, 500 mg, and 1000 mg/kg BW orally once in a day for 40 days to improve the thickness of seminiferous tubular epithelium, Leydig cells, and spermatogenic cells in mice which were exposed to lead acetate 30 mg/kg on the 5th day one hour after the the Hylocereus polyrhizus peel extract administration for 35 day. The Hylocereus polyrhizus peel extract administration significantly increased the thickness of seminiferous tubular ephitelium, number of leydig cells and spermatogenic cell in lead acetate-induced testicular toxicity. The Hylocereus polyrhizus peel extract could be used as the protector in lead acetate-induced testicular toxicity.
