Summary: | The purpose of this research is to assess empirically the correlation of perception on
academic competence standard and achievement motivation to academic procrastination.
Subject used in this research are students of SMAN A Yogyakarta who are on their XII
grade. Sample size in this research is 122 subjects, which is collected by cluster sampling
method.
This research using scale as a measurement method, there are three kinds of scale
used in this research. Those three scales are perception on academic competence standard
scale, achievement motivation, and academic procrastination scale. Regression analysis is
the statistical method occupied by researcher to test the research hypothesis. The research
found that there is correlation between perception on academic competence standard and
achievement motivation to academic procrastination.
Partially, the correlation between perceptions on academic competence standard to
academic procrastination does not show significant correlation. The negative correlation
appears when researcher tries to correlate achievement motivation and academic
procrastination. It seems the higher the achievement motivation will suppress the academic
procrastination. |
