ETD Almost every engineering instrument has their unpredictable weakness during design period. This weakness will be known after running product for a certain time. Microhydro Power Plant at Minggir is one of them. The level of trash contamination from household and nature trash made accumulation on trashrack. thus will affect dependable flow (Qan) and decrease electricity production of power plant. Most fatal damage was microhidro power plant shutdown from 2005 (year of build) till now. Automatic trashrack was built to solve this problem by carrying almost every trash that came along water flow to the border of Microhidro�s canal. This system is using natural energy from water flow that has been cleaned. The system component has two separated parts: activator wheel and lifter wheel. The velocity of water flow must be equal with flume velocity data. In fact, it was different in some drop belong to the distance of both wheel. The value of tip speed ratio at minimum distance of activator wheel was max: 0.0228 and min: 0.0195, whereas lifter wheel was max: 0.079 and min 0.066. It�s compare to the value of tip speed ratio at maximum distance of activator wheel was max: 0.0194 and min: 0.018, whereas lifter wheel was max: 0.0848 and min 0.0672. This variance gave us the influence of distance changing for each condition around 7-9 %. Thus, this condition influence the efficiency of automatic trashrack. Maximum efficiency has been reach at 70 % and this value will always change during their fabrication process.
