Summary: | This study aimed to evaluate the strategic planning in SMP Negeri 4 Mataram
NTB using Bryson�s models of Strategic Change Cycle (2004) which consists of
ten steps formulation of strategic planning.
The results of internal stakeholders evaluation questionnaire indicate that there
are six aspects that needed to be more attention, namely: 1) the mission and
vision statements are poorly understood, 2) lack of school activities in accordance
with the mission and vision of the organization, 3) the lack of observation of the
environment as a basis for making policy, 4) lack of transparency in the internal
budgeting process 5) leadership of administrative leaders is not profitable, and
6) lack braverly in taking risks in determining policy by the principal wich is
supports the mission and vision of the organization.
Furthermore, based on the results of focus group discussion to formulate a
mission and vision statement, values and goals of the organization, as well as the
formulation of the strategic issues identified by the Eight National Standard Wich
is developed based on the analysis of internal and external school environment.
