Authors interested in taking the title of �TheHanagasa Yamagata Festival�, because even though this festival was relatively new, but already attracted more than one million visitors annually. In addition, the authors were interested in hanagasa dance anda straw hat weared participants who made the name of this festival, the festival hanagasa. Hanagasa hat which wasobliged accessories worn participantsmakefestivalto look more colorful, and dances are performed by dancers Hanagasa make tourists more excited to watch this festival. The method I used study of literature method. Study of literature method was a method of data collection through the book. Hanagasa Festival wasarranged every year on August 5 to 7 in the city center of Yamagata. The festival began to be arranged since 1963. At the festival , there were about 10,000 participant from more than 100 groups of organization. The participants were singing and dancing Hanagasa while holding a straw hat decorated with artificial flower resemble benibana flower. In the festival, most of the participants dressed in variety yukata (traditional dress of summer in Japan) which according to each participant organization. Hanagasa dance was performed by a group of dancers Hanagasa consists of two types of dances, the dance of Zao Gyoko and the dance of Kunpu Mogamigawa.
