ETD The purpose of this research is to implement the proportional and integral (PI) controller for controlling the motor rotation speed of 0.75 kW separately excited DC based on PLC Omron. DC motor speed setting arranged with a one phase controlled rectifier bridge and speed feedback used the tachogenerator sensor which were given an step disturbance. The parameter values of proportional gain (Kp) and integral time (Ti) tuned by using ziegel nichlos method of reactan curve. PI controller is one of the controllers that able to overcome the changes induced by the declining performance of the motor due to load changes. Because of the ability of PLC (programmable logic controller) to manage the data, the PLC is used us a closed loop control system controllers that can produce the quality of separate excitation DC motor speed. The experiments were conducted with variations of the current armature to provide a DC motor through a change of torque setting of the magnetic powder brake loading system. The results show that the response of speed output of rotation of DC motors produce stabil (MP=10%), accuracy (ess=5%), and ability (ts=0.547 s) for return quickly to achieve the set points when the disturbance was given.
