The training program based on social cognitive approach, so that students are able to set cognition, motivation and behavior strategies during the writing thesis. Participants are 29 of fourth-year student who has taken writing thesis since the 7th semester Department of "X", Faculty �Y�, at the Institute of Teacher "Y" in Semarang. 15 participants in the experimental group and 14 participants in the control group. Data analysis was performed by t-test on gain scores. The results show that there is influence of learning based on self-regulation training to decrease students' academic procrastination (t = 3.767, p = 0.001, p <0.05). The decline of academic procrastination in writing of the experimental group is higher than the control group.
