Summary: | Along with low of electrification in Indonesia, more specifically in Eastern
Indonesia, so that environmentally-friendly and renewable alternative energy
sources such as solar energy power plant, wind power plant, and hydro power
plant, so that needed to be widely developed in Indonesia. This is considering to
magnitude of the energy potentials in Indonesia. One of potentials is micro-hydro
(PLTMH).Micro-hydro that has not been much explored is micro-hydro potentials
in Drinking Water Regional Company (PDAM) drinking waterworks.
This research aims to collect micro-hydro potentials data in Eastern
Indonesia that is obtained from various institutions both governmental and nongovernmental
to be shown in software database form that later can be used to
develop micro-hydro system in Eastern Indonesia. The use of the software is multi
functional, that one of its functions can be used to develop micro-hydro through
micro-hydro based education and training.
Through this training is also built and developed one PLTMH installation
unit by utilizing the existing potentials in BPT (Press Discharge Vessel) IV of
Drinking Water Regional Company (PDAM) in Malang City. This PLTMH can
be used by all stake holders that have been established to various needs. Turbine
used is banki turbine with design debit of 55 liter/second and design head of 40
meters. This turbine is made with special specification especially for drinking
water so that it is made of free contaminant material.
From direct testing in the PLTMH, Banki turbine used is able to produce
maximum power of 10.56 kW by maximum efficiency of 48%. And by testing
PLTMH uses a 3 kW electric generator is produced electric output of 1,270 Watt
in a 200 V current and by testing PLTMH uses a 5 kW electric generator is
produced electric output of 3,180 in a 220 V current. |
