The pathogenesis of gastroschisis in still unknown, but prevailing hypothesis is genetic factors may play an important role. In this study, we analyzed the A1408G ICAM-1 and G894T NOS3 polymorphism among another C677T 5,1O-MethyJenetetrahydrofotateredUdase(MTHFR) , G2021 0 prothrombine and GS06A factor V Leiden polymorphisme, that all presumptive as predisposition gastroschisis patients in Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta.<br />
Thirty seven patients with gastroschisis attended Sardjito Hospital during 2007-2009 were enrolled in this study as patient's group. Blood samples were withdrawn after obtained informed consent The A1408G ICAM-1 and G894T NOS3 polymorphism were analyzed by use of PCR-RFLP method. The genotype and allele frequency of A 1408G ICAM-1 and G894T NOS3 polymophism from non-gastroschisis patient whose mothers were matched by maternal age and Jawa etnic served as control neonates. The difference between groups was analyzed by chi-square test.<br />
The result of the matching case-control test analysis revealed no association of the A1408G ICAM-1 and G894T NOS3 polymorphism with gastroschisis. Both 37 gastroschisis patients, the A1408G ICAM-1 frequency M, AG and GG genotypes were 2S, 11 and 1, respectively, whereas in control were 1S, 19 and 3, respectively.
