Summary: | The aim of this research is to assist management of PT Hero Supermarket
Tbk mainly in Giant Lindeteves in designing and analyzing the possibility of
implementing performance measurement system using balanced scorecard (BSC)
method. The purpose of implementing BSC is to clearly translate strategic
objective so it can be recognized by all employees in the company. Therefore, the
company�s performance can improve and solve problems that occured in Giant
Lindeteves.
This research conducted using descriptive method with case study
approach. To identify problems in Giant Lindeteves this research using Strength,
Weakness, Opportunity, Threat (SWOT) analysis and Porter�s Five Forces Model
to analyze Giant Lindeteves position in retail industry. The problems that has been
identified is then referenced to determine strategic objective in balanced
scorecard.
Based on industrial analysis it was recognized that Giant Lindeteves is in a
very tight competition with other hypermarkets that is Carrefour Duta Merlin and
Hypermart Gajah Mada, and Alfamart and Indomaret as substitutes of
hypermarket. Based on SWOT analysis it was found that there are weaknesses in
financial performance, information technology, and employees motivation. After
the problems identified and placed as a reference in setting balanced scorecard
performance indicator, the conclusion is that company�s performance
measurement system using balanced scorecard method can be implemented to
achieve Giant Lindeteves� strategic objectives and aligning its activities with the
corporate vision and mission. |
