It attempted to identify what are the factors that lead children get poor school performance. In one primary cluster in Kampong Spue, one hundred and thirty grade 6 students and their parents were interviewed through structured-questionnaire. Standardized test was conducted both for Khmer language subject and Mathematics subject to use as dependent variables in quantitative methodology. Descriptive statistics and multilinear regression using the stepwise method were used. The finding found that parents who spend time with children asking their children to read and listening to what they are reading benefitted the most for children test score. The mother's level of education, and parental expectations were positively related to their childâ s test performance. The number of siblings in a family had a negative impact on test score. The number of school textbooks and the frequency of attending a private class had a positive impact on childrenâ s academic performance. Absenteeism, low class participation, and speaking inappropriate word to friend/classmate were negatively associated with standardized test score. Recommendations were made at the end of this study.enRoyal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP)Rural primary school students' performanceRural primary school students' educationStudent academic performance in primaryInfluential Predictors of Student Academic Achievementin Rural Primary Schoolsin Cambodia: A Case Study of One Primary School Cluster in Kampong Spue ProvinceThesis
