PMQ involve preclass self-directed learning and active students’ interaction as well as a form of formative assessment in the classroom setting. The objective of this study was to determine students’ preference of PMQ as compare to other teaching methods namely lecture, Case Presentation (CP) and Film Viewing (FV). It was a preliminary work on an untested new teaching method. Methods: An interventional cross sectional study involved 116 final year medical students in UniSZA. They underwent all four different types of teaching methods in year three, four and five during radiology classes. A survey with a questionnaire was used to collect the information during final year. They must decide on the most interesting and best, and which teaching methods that they want in the future. Descriptive analysis was used Microsoft Excel Programme. Results: 116 students responded to the questionnaire. Percentage scores for the most interesting and the best teaching method in descending sequence were PMQ (49.1%), FV (22.4%), CP (19.8%) and lecture (7.8%). Teaching method that students wanted to have more session in the future percentage scores were highest for PMQ (50%) followed by FV (36.2%), lecture (26.7%) and CP (25.0%). Conclusion: In radiology teaching, PMQ the most preferred teaching approach among the students compared to lecture, CP and FV. The result of this study will provide supportive evidence that PMQ is a useful alternative to replace other teacher-centered learning methods such as lecture and film viewing. 2018 Conference or Workshop Item NonPeerReviewed image en http://eprints.unisza.edu.my/1451/1/FH03-FP-18-20585.jpg text en http://eprints.unisza.edu.my/1451/2/FH03-FP-18-20586.pdf Norhasiza, Mat Jusoh and Husbani, Mohd Amin Rebuan and Myat Moe, Thwe Aug (2018) An interactive teaching approach: projected material quiz.
