Said RT Nursing Reduced burnout and turnover rates: These rates are prevalent issues in the nursing profession. However, shared governance can help mitigate these challenges. By involving nurses in decision-making, organizations address the factors contributing to burnout such as excessive workload, lack of control, and inadequate resources. Nurses who feel empowered and have a say in their practice experience reduced burnout levels as they have a greater sense of autonomy and control over their work. This, in turn, leads to lower turnover rates as nurses are more likely to remain in their positions when they feel satisfied and supported in their roles. Shared Governance is a model of healthcare management that encourages nurses to be actively involved in decision-making, problem-solving, and quality improvement processes. By giving nurses a voice and a role in decision making, the shared governance model empowers them to take ownership of their work and make meaningful contributions to patient care. The empowerment of nurses through shared governance can positively impact retention rates. When nurses are given a sense of ownership and control over their work environment. they are more likely to feel satisfied and engaged with their jobs. This can lead to improved retention rates, as nurses are less likely to leave their positions. In summary, the implementation of shared governance in healthcare organizations can empower nurses and improve retention rates. By giving nurses a voice and a role in decision-making, organizations can create a culture of collaboration and engagement, which can positively impact patient care and overall organizational success. 2023-06-07 Proceeding Paper NonPeerReviewed application/pdf en http://irep.iium.edu.my/108072/17/108072_%20Empowering%20nurses%20and%20improving%20retention%20through%20shared_certificates.pdf application/pdf en http://irep.iium.edu.my/108072/18/108072_%20Empowering%20nurses%20and%20improving%20retention%20through%20shared_slides.pdf application/pdf en http://irep.iium.edu.my/108072/19/108072_%20Empowering%20nurses%20and%20improving%20retention%20through%20shared_programme%20book.pdf Nurumal, Mohd. Reduced burnout and turnover rates: These rates are prevalent issues in the nursing profession.
