Summary:The interest of study in employment relation has spawned a number of conceptual and empirical studies that examine the relationship of employment relations and organisational performance.The empirical evidences also suggest that employment relations practices have positive significance to the performance of the organisation.However, most of the employment relations literature has been done based on large firms.The review of the literature indicates that the number of studies of employment relations in SMEs is remained neglected and limited.This paper attempts to highlight the importance of employment relations practices in SMEs.This paper also highlights the key practices of employment relations which help to enhance the performance of Malaysian SMEs.
