Chong, Elle Carly C. Concha, Gabrielle Therese L. Sy, Fiona Ysabel S. The general concept of the mixed-media performance art is to show how Tiktok can be seen through the point of view of an individual, to show the reality that these women face, the struggles of one’s body image are negatively impacted by an online platform full of heavily edited and crucial content about body image. The objective of the artwork is to show the audience the darker side of social media and the negative effects of TikTok on an individual. The researchers aim to spread more awareness by creating mixed-media performance art. Animation and Performance art will be part of the production, which will help visualize what the researchers aim for in the study. For the data collection process, the researchers interviewed De La Salle University grade 12 female students who are users of TikTok and view beauty-related content often. The researchers analyzed the data collected from the interview and found answers to the questions they aimed to answer. The researchers have noticed similarities between the interviewees' answers and how they are affected by Tiktok negatively because they see people who meet the “beauty standards” and wonder why they “do not”.The researchers were able to create a performance that shows the negative effects of TikTok on their body image and spreads awareness and a positive influence on the De La Salle University grade 12 female students. 2023-06-27T22:30:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/conf_shsrescon/2023/arts_ta/3 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/conf_shsrescon/article/1761/viewcontent/TA_Arroyo_Chong_Concha_Sy___Fiona_Ysabel_Sy.pdf DLSU Senior High School Research Congress Animo Repository TikTok body image body shaming negative effects, mixed-media performance |
