Luna, Carl Jasper A Digamo, John Dave Campaña, Annika Shane O. Calandria, Mary Jane H This qualitative study aimed to explore the lived experiences of Grade 12 achievers at Aplaya National High School (ANHS) regarding academic validation. The study utilized a phenomenological approach to understand the perspectives and perceptions of the participants. Non- probability purposive sampling was employed to select honor students from different strands. Data was collected through interviews, and thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. The findings revealed five superordinate themes: "Personal Experiences Caused by Academic Validation," "Positive Effects of Academic Validation," “Negative Effects of Academic Validation,” "Challenges on Academic Validation," and "Strategies in Handling Academic Validation." Achievers perceived academic validation as a source of recognition, motivation, and self-esteem. However, it could also lead to stress and negative consequences, such as sleep deprivation and anxiety. The findings emphasized the importance of individual responses to academic validation and highlighted the need for a balanced approach. Based on the findings, a program was proposed to improve academic validation among Grade 12 achievers, which involved highlighting their achievements through a bulletin board to foster a sense of appreciation and motivation. The conclusions drawn from the study contribute to understanding the experiences of achievers and provide recommendations for educators and students to promote a healthier approach to academic validation. 2023-06-27T20:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/conf_shsrescon/2023/poster_cli/2 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/conf_shsrescon/article/1790/viewcontent/PoP_CLI_Antonio_Del_Valle_Campaña_Luna_Digamo_Calandria___CHRISTIAN_GERONIMO.pdf DLSU Senior High School Research Congress Animo Repository lived experiences achievers academic validation perception recognition |
