Description
Summary:This is a descriptive research study about bullying behavior of Grade 5 pupils who were reported bullies in De La Salle Zobel (DLSZ) using the archival and unstructured interview method. The researchers aimed to know the manifestations of bullying behavior and the profile of bullies in the sample. Results showed that manifestations are of three categories: (1) Physical, which includes kicking, shoving, etc. (2) Verbal, which includes name-calling, using foul words, etc, and (3) Physical and Verbal, which includes teasing incessantly. Identified bullies in the study were also found out to have fairly high GPA's, have a widely diverse set of IQ's and are mostly firstborns and lastborns. Lastly, their conduct grades are also fairly high despite the fact that bullying behavior is reflected in conduct grades. This can be caused by the school's immediate and effective intervention.
