Description
Summary:This study focused on the peak experiences among selected elderly Filipinos. The aim of this research is to find and describe the anatomy of peak experiences through a thematic analysis of the narrated experiences. Twelve elderly Filipino individuals were the subjects of the research. Two general contexts of experiences were identified in their narratives: Lipunan and Sarili. Nine assumptions were made regarding what makes their experiences uniquely valuable. The assumptions made concern the values, perceptions, conditions, actions or behavior of the participants. It was found out that most of the uniquely valuable experiences of the participants were nadir experiences. Critical conflict situations appear to be peak experiences for the Filipino elderly in the study.
