The most effective insecticidally active extract was that obtained by soxhlet extraction. The water extracts were resolved into three components using 1:1:2 glacial acetic acid-chloroform-benzene by thin layer chromatography. The methanol extracts were separated into two spots using 1:2:4 methanol-acetone-diethyl ether.
