Today, officials in charge of assessing this problem use human-based methods to analyze traffic conditions of different roads. This method allows human error, inaccuracy, inconsistency, and discrepancy. This thesis aims to find a more systematic approach to analyzing traffic conditions by creating a program with the use of image processing and MATLAB, as well as a pre-set criterion for traffic situation basis. However, the problem and solution does not end there because information dissemination is poorly executed since it is not readily available to all motorists behind the wheel. Although social media is already part of the means of communicating the traffic situation, not all drivers have Internet access.
