Description
Summary:Sanikulas, also known as Pan de San Nicolas, is a well-known religious cookie in Mexico, Pampanga inspired by Saint Nicolas de Tolentino whose image engraved in the cookie. It is known to have healing effects when it first gained its popularity among the people. Through the years, the tradition of making Sanikulas has become a commodity instead. A debate on who the original maker materialized. The issue on losing its religious aspect, being too commercialized and controversies on the original maker seem to be more valuable and worthy to talk about rather than the tradition that is struggling to be kept alive.
