Pakikipagkapwa as a mediator of mortality salience and helping behavior

The present study revolves around the relationship between mortality salience, pakikipagkapwa, and helping behavior among Filipinos. Pakikipagkapwa, in the present study, was the supposed mediator. The study involved 300 Filipino college students whose ages ranges from 15-24 from the different colleges of De La Salle University-Manila. They were made to answer Death Accessibility Measure, Panukat ng Ugali at Pagkatao, and General Helping Behavior Scale. Correlation and regression results show that Pakikipagkapwa did not mediate Mortality Salience and Helping Behavior. However, Pakikipagkapwa had a direct effect on Helping Behavior.
