Lupena, Francis Nikolai M. Mangunay, Jerico C. Panganiban, Marc Julius M. Determining one's navigational position and path is important for motorists. It prevents inexperienced drivers from getting lost and helps in significantly reducing travel time which in turn would lessen fuel consumption. To compensate for these problems, onboard navigation systems must be developed. This research would aid users in easily identifying their real-time location through the use of a digital map. More specifically, an integration of a Global Positioning System (GPS) and an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) will be performed for vehicle tracking and navigation purposes. The use of these said systems provides a higher accuracy rather than GPS or IMU alone. Several physics equations and basic ratio and proportion concepts will be utilized in this project for computing position using the data gathered from the sensors. Since IMU's accuracy will decrease for long periods of time, the GPS will aid in the correction of data. After such data processing, the traversed path on a digital map and the vehicle state information will be displayed in a Graphical user Interface (GUI). 2008-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14382 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Inertial navigation systems Electronic systems Real-time programming GPS (Computer program) Global Positioning System Electronic data processing Engineering
