Description
Summary:The instruction of Computer Science, which may students have difficulty coping with, can be greatly aided by the use of educational software. Most of these educational software come with student models, which allow it to adjust to the needs and preferences of a student based on a preset pedagogy. The Programmers Object-Oriented Learning Environment II (POOLE II) is a system that teaches the concepts of Object-Oriented Programming to Computer Science Students using an integrated learning environment and collaborative learning. However, POOLE II does not have a student model, which was recommended by (Chan, Flores, Lin, & Sy, 2005), that can improve adaptability and collaboration in the system. This paper presents a student modeling module that can be incorporated into POOLE II to give it student modeling capabilities, allowing it to adapts its students needs and preferences, and improve collaboration.
