總結:In the Philippines, senior citizens comprise four percent of the total population. When people get older, they may need assistance in walking due to the onset of age related problems such as arthritis. There are also a lot of physically challenged people in the country that may benefit from such a device. There are various equipment available in the market for such purpose, such as a cane or walking sticks, but the group wanted to create a technologically advanced substitute that would allow those in need of assistance to have a sophisticated walker. The walker would consist of electronic and mechanical parts, and would be capable of supporting the user. It will be able to sense and avoid obstacles along a path and allow the user to choose from three different pre-set speeds. The battery operated walker will allow a person in need of walking assistance more mobility and freedom.
