When people get older, they may need assistance in walking due to the onset of age related problems such as arthritis. There are also a lot of physically challenged people in the country that may benefit from such a device. There are various equipment available in the market for such purpose, such as a cane or walking sticks, but the group wanted to create a technologically advanced substitute that would allow those in need of assistance to have a sophisticated walker. The walker would consist of electronic and mechanical parts, and would be capable of supporting the user. It will be able to sense and avoid obstacles along a path and allow the user to choose from three different pre-set speeds. The battery operated walker will allow a person in need of walking assistance more mobility and freedom. |
