Description
Summary:Remotely Operated Vehicle or also called Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle is simply a tethered (wired) underwater robot. Unlike other Operated Vehicle that is operated on land, it is difficult to design a Remotely Operated Vehicle that is operated underwater. In this kind of robotic system, many things are considered to attain desired mobility, such as buoyancy, floatation, and stability. The vehicle is controlled by a person with the use of a group of cables connected to the robot. These cables carry electrical power, data signals back and forth between the operator and the vehicle. Additional equipment is commonly added to expand the vehicle's capabilities such as sensors, a still camera, a manipulator arm, water samplers, and other underwater instruments. In this paper the group presents the different components and the design considerations in a creating a remotely operated vehicle. The vehicle can perform monitoring operations. We included in this paper the experimentations, results, and analysis of the performance of the remotely operated vehicle.
