Description
Summary:This project primarily enables a person to determine the approximate location of his car upon request through the base station. The whole system is composed of two modules : the car-based unit and the home-based station. The car-based section determine the car's appropriate position by means of digital compass and an odometer. The compass and odometer will give the bearing and the distance travelled respectively. A microprocessor in the car-based unit will process the respective outputs and upon reception of a request code, transmits the processed data to the station using a Very High Frequency (VHF) FM transceiver which will facilitate the communication link between the two modules. The base station will then decode the transmitted signal and send it into its Central Processing Unit for display.
