Flores, Maria Jinky C. Ong, Henson Villaluz, Michael G. This project primarily enables a person to determine the approximate location of his car upon request through the base station. The whole system is composed of two modules : the car-based unit and the home-based station. The car-based section determine the car's appropriate position by means of digital compass and an odometer. The compass and odometer will give the bearing and the distance travelled respectively. A microprocessor in the car-based unit will process the respective outputs and upon reception of a request code, transmits the processed data to the station using a Very High Frequency (VHF) FM transceiver which will facilitate the communication link between the two modules.
