Description
Summary:This study uses a microcontroller to control the movement of the altitude and azimuth motors that track the position of the sun with the LED based sunphotometer. There has not been a wireless sunphotometer in the Philippines and the novelty of thesis is that it solves the problem of wired data transmission by transmitting the data wirelessly from the microcontroller to a computer with Zigbee RF modules. In addition to this, it can be programmed to automatically track the sun anytime and anywhere. Also, it implements small motor step size for increased tracking accuracy. The prototype is a stand-alone device with the automation of the microcontroller and the usage of heavy-duty car batteries for powering up the system without the need for a wired power source.
