The thesis is conceptualized and developed to provide a computerized monitoring and regulation of oil pressure in machines. The thesis shall be called OIL PRESSURE REGULATOR (OPR). The OPR provides for the design of a system that continually monitors the oil pressure, compares this with the desired and pre-defined pressure limits, and adjusts the oil pressure through an electric motor that drives an oil pump. The system employs a software program to control the overall operations of the system hardware components which include the continuous checking of the pressure signals (through a pressure transducer), conversion of input signals to digital pulses (through a converter circuit), and the controlling of the speed of a motor that regulates the pressure to the pre-set limits. Pulse-width modulation is employed to control the speed of the motor. Regulation of oil pressure is actualized by the oil pump which shall vary the pressure applied through its speed controlled by the electric motor. The OPR is primarily intended and recommended for industrial machine applications where monitoring and regulation of oil pressure is left to a machine operator who relies on an analog pressure gauge to monitor the pressure and on the machine control valves to regulate the pressure. This system is not only inaccurate but likewise very much subjective to human judgement and error. 1991-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/16395 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Database design Operating systems (Computers) Automatic machinery Control theory |
