Summary: | This thesis is an exploratory study that would delve into the possibility of a web-based platform as a potential tool in bridging the gap between members of the academe such as students and member of the private sector such as SMEs. The objective of such collaboration is pursuant to the benefits of thinning the gap between theory and practical application for both partys. The study aimed to address the problem of defining the effectiveness of the platform in achieving such a goal. The effectiveness was defined by three criteria or factor, namely motivation to work together, perceived capability of the students, and whether or not it leads to other collaborative consultancy efforts. The sample was chosen through a purposive and quota sampling method-capitalizing on an on-the-job training exercise conducted by the respondents on the previous month.
Through the utilization of an adventure learning framework and adapting it on to a web-based platform (that simulates a project-based research output)-the proponents of the research were able to conclude, that in the case of 75 Management Students (De La Salle University Manila), 13 Benepartners (Foundation of Enterprise Management Innovation), and 21 collaborative Projects, such proposed solution would prove to be effective in its attempt to bridge the gap between the Private Sector and Education Sector. Recommendations on the study, the platform, further studies and top both sectors were likewise provided. |
