In order to determine the effect of different humidity levels on the germination of Solanum sp. seeds, they were stored in dehydration chambers containing hygroscopic salts in order to maintain humidity levels and were germinated afterward. The effect of high/low temperature and humidity on the germination of the Solanum sp. seeds were also determined by observing their germination when exposed to these environmental conditions. It was found that the Solanum sp. seeds had produced more germinated individuals when relative humidity (RH) was kept at its lowest when pre-stored in the dehydration chambers while those collected fresh from their source were able to produce more germinated individuals when exposed to a high RH-high temperature environment. Comparison of the germination rates of Calopogonium sp. and Centrosema sp. at alternating high temperature-high RH and low temperature-low RH showed that although Centrosema sp. was able to produce germinated individuals sooner than Calopogonium sp., Calopogonium sp. has better tolerance when exposed to the provided environmental conditions. 2016-08-01T07:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/18688 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Germination Solanum—Effect of temperature on Legumes—Effect of temperature on Centrosema—Effect of temperature on Biology |
