Description
Summary:Meat and water samples were taken from ten canteens: five from the De La Salle Medical School area, the other five from the Emilio Aguinaldo-De La Salle University undergraduate compound. The samples were tested for the presence of coliform organisms and the microbial load was determined. The microbial loads ranged from 5.9 X10 to 1.02 X10 cfu/g for meats and 0 to 7.7 X10 cfu/ml for water. The results also showed that of the ten meat dish samples collected, six were positive for coliforms. Of the ten water samples collected, six samples were below standard. The samples testing positive for coliforms or having a microbial load exceeding the set standard (BFAD) of 1X10 cfu/ml.
