The physico-chemical characteristics and brown algae production were done in Talin Bay, Batangas for a period of six months from July to December 1994. The different physico-chemical parameters measured consists of: water temperature, transparency and depth, pH, total alkalinity, salinity, conductivity, total hardness, nitrate, orthophosphate, and silicate content. Through chlorophyll a analysis and relative abundance, biomass of the ecosystem was determined. Primary productivity was verified using the modified light and dark bottled technique. Brown algae species were also collected, identified, and verified at the National Museum. The different physico-chemical parameters indicated fluctuations during the experiment period which were within the levels of the DENR Administrative Order #34 water criteria designated for class SC. The brown algae belong to 2 classes, 2 orders, 2 families, 2 genera, and 5 species. Family Sargassaceae had the most number of species represented. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1290 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Brown algae--Batangas Water--Analysis Biology--Classification
