The effects of pre-germination seed processing, storage temperature and duration of storage on the viability and seedling growth of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)
The effects of three different pre-germination seed processing methods, two storage temperatures, and duration of storage on tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) were compared using the following growth parameters: germination percentage, uniformity of germination time (UGT), shoot and root length...

Bartolome, Bernadette S. The effects of three different pre-germination seed processing methods, two storage temperatures, and duration of storage on tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) were compared using the following growth parameters: germination percentage, uniformity of germination time (UGT), shoot and root length (cm), and dry weight (g).Results showed that the different combinations of pre-germination seed processing method, storage temperature and duration of storage did not significantly affect seed viability of tomato as measured by germination percentage and uniformity of germination time (UGT), as well as seedling growth of tomato as measured by shoot and root length (cm) and dry weight (g). The manual method of seed processing was recommended because of lower cost of materials and shorter preparation time, in combination with storage in ambient temperature for two to ten weeks. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1326 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Germination Seeds--Storage Seeds--Viability Tomatoes Growth (Plants) |
