Summary:The study purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of teachers toward their career and to identify the indices of commitment among the selected public elementary school teachers in Division Schools of Manila. The study based on cluster and purposive sampling. It consists of 90 respondents and were group in to three groups, e.g. early, mid and late career teachers. The teachers' perception towards their career and indices of commitment was measure by questionnaire. The results revealed that job satisfaction, first employment of the respondents, their behavioral intention to stay and their marital status will have an influence on the respondents' perception of themselves towards their career. Always prepared to teach, being present and punctual were the indicators of commitment. Love for teaching, love for children, patience, and their concern about the youth were also considered as indicators of commitment.
