Data were gathered through the use of research made questionnaire for parents and the interview for parents and coaches. The perspective of the parents and coaches were significantly gathered and analyzed to support the data needed. Basically, the study determined: (a) the perception of parents on the positive effects of the child's involvement in sports to his/her self esteem specifically in the area of sense of belongingness, sense of worthiness, sense of dignity, and sense of control (b) the perception of coaches on the positive effects of the child's involvement in sports to his/her self esteem specifically in the area of sense of belonginess, sense of worthiness, sense of dignity, and sense of control. (d) the other of factors of these positive effects on the self esteem of children. The result of the study showed that parents and coaches perceived that there are significant positive changes or effects on the child's self esteem during and or after he/she engaged in sports. In addition, the study showed that among the areas of sense of belongingness, sense of worthiness, sense of dignity, and sense of control it was in the cornerstone of sense of belonginess that the sports has a greater or influence the sports have as perceived by the parents. 2009-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/2936 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Sports for children Self-esteem in children Early Childhood Education |
