Description
Summary:An improvised stretching apparatus that will be fitted to existing Physics laboratory equipment was fabricated. Conducting polypyrrole films were synthesized and they were stretched using a total load of 400 grams for a period of one hour. The films were stretched using the improvised apparatus in an aqueous solution of distilled water doped with P-Toluenesulfonate monohydrate. Films stretched at a higher solution temperature showed a better percentage change in their conductivity. The researchers' samples yielded a percentage change in conductivity of 193.55 (stretching temperature at 60 degrees Celsius) at its highest and a conductivity change of 1.89 at its lowest (stretching temperature at 30 degrees Celsius). To provide additional data, samples produced by Arboleda, Granada, & Reyes were also used. These samples yielded a percentage change in conductivity of 356.5 (stretching temperature at 30 degrees Celsius) at its highest and a conductivity change of 14.67 (stretching temperature at 40 degrees Celsius) at its lowest.
