Description
Summary:The central agenda of this thesis is to determine if discourses of authoritarianism and militarism are integral or merely cosmetic to the framework of CrossFit as practiced in selected locations in Manila. The questions prepared for my respondents were designed to target how militaristic and authoritarian tendencies, if any, affect the life of CrossFit athletes outside the box and to what extent are they willing to adjust their lives in accordance to those principles. The questions also touch on the negative impressions people have on CrossFit and why these athletes chose to try it out in the first place despite the negativity surrounding CrossFit and what made them continue CrossFit.
