Tan, Alyssa Denise C. Talusan, Bianca Kristine R. Young, Jasper Brent Y. It has been a big debate in the business world whether which type of manager is the most effective in terms of producing better financial performance for the company. Companies either hire managers who are professionals or they are managed by the owners themselves. The agency theory, stewardship theory and the social network theory are the three concepts that was based by the said study to explain which owner-manager relationship is better for the company. Therefore, this study aims to study the three populations through a t-test for two populations in order to determine which relationship has a larger impact on firm performance measured through return on assets, return on equity and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of publicly-listed companies in the ASEAN region for the years 2011-2015. Based on the findings of this study, it has proven that based on the averages, hired managers had better averages than that of the other two independent variables. However, when the data was run, it has proven that there is no significant difference between the three populations. 2016-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/7481 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Industrial relations--Southeast Asia
