Description
Summary:The study, entitled Experimental Modules on Analog and Digital IC Design using LASI and WinSpice, aims to develop experimental modules on designing the schematic and layout of selected analog and digital circuits with the said software programs standing at the core. Along with these designs are their corresponding simulations and analyses wherein necessary parameters are included for each schematic and layout. The thesis employed LASI, short for LAyout System for Individual(ist)s, as the electronic design automation (EDA) tool for drawing and analyzing schematics and layouts of the analog and digital circuits. Since it does not perform simulations, although it compiles Spice files, LASI needs WinSpice to serve as its simulation program. Together with the experimental modules that show the step-by-step procedures and detailed discussions and illustrations of designing the schematic and layout of the circuits, a graphical user interface (GUI) was also developed to enhance the user learning environment. The GUI was made to have a number of features for it to serve as an effective learning tool, and one of them is its integration with LASI and WinSpice.
