總結:This study aims to evaluate the heat transfer coefficient from a fabricated double-pipe heat exchanger. It also aims to determinate the performance of the fabricated heat exchanger through the data gathered during the experiment. In the fabricated double-pipe heat exchanger, counter current flow is employed. The fluid used is water which is both being heated and cooled. The hot water flows in the inside pipe while the cold water flows in the outside pipe. To monitor the temperatures of the heated and cooled water, thermocouples are used. A valve is used to control and vary the flowrate of the cold water.Through experiments performed on the fabricated double-pipe heat exchanger, the entering and leaving temperatures are noted both for the hot and cold water at specific flow rates. These are then substituted in the appropriate equations to determine both the theoretical and the actual heat transfer coefficient of the heat exchanger. The Wilson plot is also used to determine the experimental heat transfer coefficient. The theoretical and the actual heat transfer coefficients are then compared to evaluate the validity of the study.
